Nipah virus found in Kerala, Goa Health Minister says no need to fear

Panaji: Goa Health Minister Biswajit Rane has said on Monday that he will visit the region in the next few days, while addressing the apprehensions of the people regarding Kerala's journey to the Nipah virus. Rane led a meeting of health department officials to review preparedness against the virus.

Rane told the press after the meeting that, "Don't worry, I'm going to Kerala in the next two-three days. I am not at all worried about my visit to Kerala. The Kerala Government has managed to limit the virus to just two or three areas. He said, "Kerala and Goa are connected through trains and a lot of tourists come from there. So we want to exercise caution. "

The minister said that the central government has given a clear protocol to control the spread of Nipah virus and is being complied with by the governments of Kerala and Goa. Earlier in the Modi government, health minister Harsh Vardhan said on Sunday that a case of Nipah from Ernakulam district of Kerala had surfaced on June 3 and the condition of the infected college student is improving. He has also said that no new cases of infection with Nipah virus have come to light in Kerala.
