NEW DELHI: In a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Central government, Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, voiced his strong disapproval regarding a recent robbery incident near the Pragati Maidan underpass in the national capital. Kejriwal emphasized that the Central government showed no intention of curbing crime and enhancing the overall law and order situation. During a media interaction at Delhi's GTB Nagar, where he was inaugurating EV charging stations, the Chief Minister revealed that he had been informed about another theft in a local market earlier that morning. In this incident, the accused individuals had broken a lock and committed the theft. "The law and order situation in the national capital is not receiving the attention it deserves from the Central government. Their approach solely revolves around organizing meetings, which, in reality, achieve nothing substantial. These meetings are nothing more than mere formalities," Kejriwal expressed his frustration. He further highlighted the prevailing state of lawlessness in Delhi, with its residents feeling increasingly insecure. Kejriwal admitted his bafflement over the unfolding events in the national capital. "The deteriorating condition of law and order in Delhi can be attributed solely to the relentless efforts of the Lieutenant Governor (L-G) and the BJP to impede the progress of the Delhi government. I urge them to allow me to fulfill my responsibilities while they concentrate on their own duties. Rather than obstructing the functioning of my Mohalla clinics and water supply, they should divert their attention towards maintaining law and order. Even if they fail, they should hand over the responsibility of law and order to us, and we will transform Delhi into the safest place," Kejriwal asserted firmly.
