With electric vehicles being hailed as the way of the future, the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology-Madras announced the commencement of a master's programme in electric vehicles on Monday, with the goal of bolstering e-mobility research capacity. The Interdisciplinary Dual Degree (IDDD), which will be available to B. Tech and Dual Degree students, will increase students' engagement with e-mobility. Students are slated to begin enrolling in this programme in January 2022 during their third year of B. Tech and Dual Degree Programs, with an initial intake of 25 students, according to the IIT-M. According to the institute, students who complete this degree will be prepared for careers in Electric Vehicle Product Development, including Electric Vehicle Integration, Vehicle Aggregate Engineering, Communication and Calibration, Verification and Validation, and Product and Portfolio Planning.
