The Class of 2024 at IIT Kanpur has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a total of 989 job offers, including 22 international offers, in the initial phase of their placement season. The average annual pay package offered to this batch stands impressively at Rs 26.27 lakh. A significant number of 913 students, including those with pre-placement offers (PPOs), have successfully secured employment, marking a testament to the dedicated efforts of the Students’ Placement Office, according to S Ganesh, director of IIT-Kanpur. Major companies such as Microsoft, Fujitsu, Samsung, Reliance, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Deutsche Bank, Tata Projects, and Navi were among the recruiters present on the campus. Additionally, Uniorbit, ICICI Bank, EXL, NPCI, Intel, TSMC, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, HPCL, SECI, C-DoT, and NVIDIA also actively participated in this placement round. Raju Kumar Gupta, chairperson of the Students’ Placement Office at IIT-Kanpur, expressed that the institute is currently in the process of inviting more companies and startups for the upcoming second phase of placements, scheduled to commence in mid-January. IIT Kanpur boasts 19 departments, 25 centers, and three interdisciplinary programs covering engineering, science, design, humanities, and management disciplines.
