Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini of Haryana is making remarkable steps in supporting the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community, reflecting his commitment to their upliftment. His administration has launched a range of initiatives designed to benefit this group, which he is personally connected to. One significant change under Saini's leadership is the increase in the annual income threshold for the creamy layer of the OBC category in government jobs, rising from ₹6 lakh to ₹8 lakh. This new limit excludes salary and agricultural income. Additionally, the reservation percentage for backward classes in Group-A and Group-B posts has been elevated from 15% to 27%, in line with central government standards. The government is also prioritizing the clearing of job backlogs for backward classes. The Haryana Skill Employment Corporation has introduced a 27% reservation for the OBC category, aiming to enhance job opportunities for the youth. At a recent Sarva Samaj Samrasta Sammelan organized by the OBC Morcha, Chief Minister Saini reiterated the government's commitment to protecting OBC interests. The state government has also launched several schemes to support the OBC community, such as scholarships for improved education and skill development programs. Areas with significant OBC populations have been designated as aspirational districts by the central government, benefiting from targeted development schemes. A substantial budget of ₹13,000 crore has been allocated under the Bhagwan Vishwakarma Yojana for training in 18 trades. This program offers financial support and training kits to enhance skill development among the OBC community. Saini believes that the benefits provided by both the central and state governments to the OBC class exceed those of previous administrations. His efforts have garnered increased support from OBC voters for the ruling party, which may influence upcoming assembly elections. Chief Minister Saini's focus on ensuring equal opportunities and benefits for all, with a particular emphasis on the OBC category, has been well-received and is expected to positively impact future political outcomes.
