Indore: A book written by Father Varghese Alengaden on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his priestly ordination was released at a function March 31 at Indore. Renowned journalist Shravan Garg, who released “Ho Jayega” (It will be done), described the book as “an attitude that helps a person to overcome crises in life.” He also said that the “Ho Jayega” philosophy enabled Father Alengaden to achieve great things in his life, especially starting the Universal Solidarity Movement of Value Education for Peace (USM) and nurturing it. Krishna Gupta, vice president of USM, said only “a person who is deeply related to God can say with faith and confidence ‘Ho Jayega’.”She applauded the enormous contribution of Father Alengaden in promoting peace and harmony among the followers of different religions and animating thousands of young people. While presenting the review of the book, George Alengaden hailed it as the guiding principle that helped the jubilarian priest to navigate the unexpected twists and turns of his life’s pilgrimage. According to him, Father Alengaden faced numerous roadblocks that often looked like a dead end. The book, he added, contains the spiritual “toolkit” that will bring about self-transformation and radical change in society and in individuals. Some of the salient features of this spiritual toolkit are hospitality as spirituality, religionless spirituality, table fellowship and other values. Carmelite Father Jacob Peenikaparambil, in his welcome address, commended Father Alengaden’s capacity to transcend the small identities like caste, religion, language, and focus on the highest identity of humanity and divine presence in every human being. Father Alengaden through his mission of Universal Solidarity Movement (USM) is demolishing walls of division and building bridges among different communities, he added. The Malayalam song, “Ishwarane thediyalanju jan” (I have wandered in search of God), radiated the philosophy and spirituality of Father Alengaden, said Neetu Joshi of USM, who sang it on the occasion.
