Google Discover has introduced a novel feature, now prominently displaying the Air Quality Index (AQI) card on both Android and iOS platforms. This latest addition can be found conveniently adjacent to the weather card, ensuring users can swiftly access the air quality index of their location without the need for a dedicated search. Google has also amplified user personalization within the Discover feature. By simply tapping the 'edit' button alongside the last card, a checkbox menu emerges, granting users the flexibility to toggle various cards on or off, including: Air Quality: Offers information about air quality at the user's current location. Finance: Provides updates on stock prices and market trends. Sports: Delivers the latest updates from users' favorite sports teams. Weather: Displays real-time weather conditions at the user's current location. In the initial stages of Google Discover's beta release, the customization interface adhered to the Material You theme, characterized by substantial toggle buttons corresponding to each option. Nevertheless, in the stable release, a checkbox menu has been adopted, presumably to ensure uniformity in the visual experience across both Android and iOS platforms. The AQI card comes equipped with a colored indicator, reflecting the severity of the air quality, alongside a timestamp indicating when the reading was last taken. By tapping on the AQI card, users can instantly initiate a Google Search for "AQI." It's important to note that Google currently does not support the ability to rearrange the positions of these cards. The AQI, or Air Quality Index, is a pivotal metric for measuring air pollution levels. Google's decision to prominently feature the AQI card in Discover is a highly appreciated addition, particularly for the residents of India's major metropolitan areas. As winter approaches in Delhi NCR, air quality often takes a dip for the worse. With the AQI readily accessible, individuals can proactively prepare for adverse air quality conditions.
