Panaji: Yesterday, the Election Commission has announced assembly elections in 5 states. Subsequently, the AAP has released the second list for the Goa Assembly elections. Names of 10 candidates have been announced in the second list of AAP. The names of 10 candidates were also announced in the first list. Out of 40 assembly seats, the party has so far decided the names of 20 candidates. The first list has names like former Bharatiya Janata Party minister Mahadev Naik, Alina Saldanha and lawyer-turned-politician Amit Palekar. Delhi's ruling AAP has become the second party after Congress to announce the candidate. Mahadev Naik, Alina Saldanha has also held ministerial posts in the BJP government. AAP's Goa in-charge Atishi has given permission to the list of these 10 candidates. These candidates will contest from different seats in North Goa and South Goa districts. Polling for the Goa Assembly elections will be held on February 14, while results will be out on March 10. The Code of Conduct has come into force with immediate effect. The notification for the elections will be issued on January 21. Nominations will be held by January 28, scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on January 29. The withdrawal of names will be done by January 31. The results of the elections will be out on March 10. Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra said that 40 assembly seats in Goa will go to the polls in a single phase. In Goa, apart from BJP, Congress, AAP and TMC are set to clash this time.
