The Goa government launched 40 Garib Kalyan Sammelans across the state on Saturday, with the goal of ensuring that the Centre's scheme reaches every segment of society in the state. Sadanand Tanavade, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Goa, said, "We have decided to hold 40 Garib Kalyan Sammelans in Goa's 40 constituencies. The programme was held today in two constituencies in north Goa and two constituencies in south Goa." "On 30 May 2020, the BJP finished its eight years in power at the Centre, and we have been holding various programmes from May 30 to June 15 since then. The purpose of today's event, which drew thousands of people, was to reach out to the most vulnerable members of society as well as those from the unorganised sector "Tanavade said this during a press conference at the Taleigao community hall in Taleigao, Goa. The state BJP president further stated that the administration intends to engage the remaining 36 constituencies in the state in a similar manner with such programmes. The scheduled programmes would be chaired by different ministers each day, according to the BJP state president.
