Four Indians lost their lives in a heartbreaking accident in Anna, Texas, on August 30. Their SUV caught fire after a collision with a speeding truck. The victims, Aryan Raghunath Orampati, Farooq Shaik, Lokesh Palacharla, and Darshini Vasudevan, were identified through DNA fingerprinting as the remains were severely damaged in the fire. The accident occurred while the victims were carpooling towards Bentonville, Arkansas. The SUV, which was carrying Aryan Raghunath Orampati and his friend Farooq Shaik from Hyderabad, Lokesh Palacharla from East Godavari in Andhra Pradesh, and Darshini Vasudevan from Tamil Nadu, was hit by a truck traveling at high speed. The impact left the vehicle engulfed in flames, trapping the occupants inside. Three other individuals were injured in the crash, and their conditions are being monitored by local authorities. Mastan Vali, Farooq's father, shared his sorrow, noting that his son had recently completed his M.S. course in the US. Farooq’s sister, who resides in the US, is working with authorities to manage the situation. Aryan's parents, who had recently celebrated his graduation from the University of Texas in Dallas, were hoping for his return to India, but Aryan had planned to work in the US for two more years. Lokesh was en route to visit his wife in Bentonville, while Darshini, a master's student at the University of Texas, was heading to see her uncle. The truck’s failure to slow down in heavy traffic led to the fatal crash. The severity of the collision prevented the occupants from escaping the fire. The families of the deceased are currently waiting for formal identification from the authorities.
