Panji: Four people were killed and an equal number sustained injuries when a bus crashed into roadside hutments in Verna, South Goa district, on Sunday, according to police reports. The police stated that both the deceased and the injured are natives of Bihar. "The bus was transporting employees of a private company. The driver lost control while attempting to make a turn and crashed into the hutments beside the road. There were workers sleeping inside. Four of them have died, and four others are receiving treatment at a Sub-district hospital in Madgaon," said Sunita Sawant, Superintendent of Police South Goa. The police officer confirmed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. "All of them are natives of Bihar. The driver was under the influence of alcohol during the accident," Sawant added.
