Ujjain: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh dispelled a myth by spending the night at his residence in Ujjain. It is said that no Chief Minister stays overnight in Ujjain because Ujjain is home to Baba Mahakal, the reigning deity. Chief Minister Yadav stated that he is a son of Ujjain, and Baba Mahakal is his father. He emphasized that he serves as the chief servant of Mahakal, not as the Chief Minister. On Sunday morning, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav held a meeting at the Vikramaditya Administrative Complex in Ujjain regarding the development agenda for the city. Collector Kumar Purushottam had prepared folders on the preparations, approved, ongoing, and proposed plans in the district. It is noteworthy that after becoming the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav held an administrative-level meeting in Ujjain for the first time. Ujjain is his hometown, and he is well-versed in its history, geography, and the needs of its people. Most of the plans in the last 10 years were realized through his efforts. Many of these plans were implemented on the ground, while some were delayed and eventually halted for various reasons. Now that he is the head of the state, the residents of Ujjain have high hopes for smoother and faster progress in the city. To fulfill this expectation, an ₹8,500 crore Green Traffic Mobility Plan is being implemented to complete pending projects related to Hope, Housing Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, Amrit Mission, and Smart City Mission. Projects such as the approved Kanha Dayaversion Closure Duct Project for Shipra Purification, Airport, Ropeway, Satellite Campus of IIT Indore, doubling of Harifatak Bridge's four arms, Medical Device Park, Government Medical College, construction of the Freeganj Parallel Bridge, and widening of the Mahakal Parade Route are also on the agenda. Additionally, the operation of 39 industries in Vikram Udyogpuri will commence soon to provide better employment opportunities and uplift the standard of living. Officials have initiated efforts to make Ujjain a globally exemplary city as the Chief Minister's city. They have directed that all work should be of high quality, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing. All tasks should be completed within the stipulated time frame.
