Chittoor: A bus carrying passengers on its way to Tirupati for engagement in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday lost control and fell into a deep gorge, killing seven persons and injuring 45 passengers. In addition, the condition of many individuals remains serious. The accident took place at Bakpeta, 25 km from Tirupati. The injured persons have been admitted to Ruya Government Hospital in Tirupati, where they are undergoing treatment. Tirupati SP has reported that the accident occurred due to the driver's negligence. The same locals said they saw pieces of meat scattered all around. A preliminary report by Chandragiri police said that a private bus left Dharmavaram in Anantapur district for Tirupati on Saturday. The bus driver reportedly lost control while crossing a turn and the bus fell into the ditch below. The relief work was hampered due to darkness at night. However, the rescue work was completed by the wee hours of Sunday. On the other hand, nine persons, including three women and a child, died in three separate road accidents in Rajasthan. Police said on Saturday that three persons lost their lives while eight others were injured in a road accident in Ajmer district on Friday evening. The accident took place near Loharwada village on Ajmer-Kota highway when an SUV collided with a truck. The deceased have been identified as Riyaz Khan, Rukhsana and Suraiya Parveen.
