Noida: Noida Police on Tuesday busted a gang that duped hundreds of unemployed people in the name of getting them jobs abroad. With this, the police have arrested 10 cyber thugs. Noida Zone ADCP Ranvijay Singh has informed that the IT cell and the Police Station Sector 113 have busted a fake call centre operating in Delhi's Mayur Vihar Phase One on Tuesday. Noida police have arrested 10 thugs, including the kingpin who operated the fake call centre. In fact, Narendra, who lives in Sector 75 Society, had filed a complaint against them a few days ago. The accused had extorted Rs 20 lakh in the name of getting him a job in Singapore. The ADCP has reported that the thugs used to steal data of the unemployed from various job sites on the internet. Then they used to call them with fake SIMs and take them in their trap in the name of getting a job in the country or abroad. After coming into the trap, the accused used to siphon off money in various fake bank accounts in the name of processing or other expenses. After the fraud, the accused used to turn off their mobile number. The accused arrested by the Noida police are Pawan Kumar, Jitesh Kumar (gangster), Dipendra Kumar, Arvind Kumar Yadav, Tejpal Singh, Rohit Kumar, Subhash Chandra and Ram Krishna Singh of village Lakhnawali police station, Surajpur. Police have recovered seven laptops, 17 mobile phones, Rs 6,74,000, a Scorpio car from the possession of the accused.
