MUMBAI: Elaborate security measures have been implemented at Churchgate and other local railway stations ahead of India's T20 cricket World Cup team's victory parade in south Mumbai on Thursday evening, announced the Western Railway (WR). The WR confirmed additional arrangements at Churchgate, Marine Lines, and Charni Road stations to ensure smooth crowd management during the event. The victory parade, scheduled to travel from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium in an open bus, coincides with the evening rush hour when numerous commuters from south Mumbai head towards their homes in the northern suburbs. "Additional ticket checking staff have been deployed, and extra UTS windows at Churchgate will remain operational until midnight," stated the Western Railway. Officials reported a significant increase in crowds at Churchgate and other stations since the afternoon, as people gathered to witness the parade and catch a glimpse of the cricket team.
