Doctors agitation increasing in Rajasthan, know what is the matter

Jaipur: Health services are also expected to be seriously affected in Rajasthan on Wednesday. This is because government doctors and faculty members of medical colleges have announced they will go on a one-day mass holiday in solidarity with private doctors who are agitating against the Right to Health Bill. However, exemption is to be given in case of emergency.

Demand to withdraw the bill: The health department has directed the principals of medical colleges to ensure that medical services in OPD, IPD, ICU, emergency, and delivery wards are not affected. The government has also directed them to conduct an inquiry against government doctors for being on leave voluntarily and without prior approval and for the cancellation of the registration of resident doctors for dereliction of duty. The private doctor is appealing the bill passed in the state assembly on Tuesday. The All Rajasthan In-Service Doctors Association has announced a one-day strike on Wednesday in support of the agitating doctors.

Government doctors will be on one day of mass leave. Dr. Shankar Bamnia, general secretary of the association, has said that more than 15,000 serving (government) doctors will be on one day of mass leave in support of the doctors' movement against the Right to Health Bill and are going to boycott. Along with them, resident doctors and faculty of medical colleges are also going to boycott work. Continuing his point, he has said that "in support of the movement, all the doctors are going to be on a one-day collective holiday."

Issuing the order, Joint Secretary of the Department Iqbal Khan has said that disciplinary action will be taken against those boycotting the work. Doctors say that the bill will increase bureaucratic interference in the functioning of private hospitals.
