Delhi Weather Update: Scorching Heat Continues, Relief Expected Soon

New Delhi: Delhi is experiencing extreme heat, with temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius, making it challenging for people to venture outdoors. Although there is no heat wave alert at present, there seems to be no relief from the blistering heat. The maximum temperature in the capital on Saturday is expected to be around 39 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 21 degrees Celsius. Strong winds are expected to blow at a speed of 25 to 35 km per hour.

Light rain is forecasted for Sunday, which is expected to bring some relief from the hot weather. However, temperatures are expected to rise again afterward. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi, according to the Central Pollution Control Board, was recorded at 217 at 9 am, falling into the 'poor' category. The humidity level at 8.30 am was 60 percent, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

On Friday, the maximum temperature recorded was 39.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees above the seasonal average, according to the IMD. This is the highest temperature recorded so far this summer season. During this period, the relative humidity in the national capital ranged between 27 to 69 percent. The IMD has predicted a partly cloudy sky and strong surface winds on Saturday, with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to remain between 39 to 21 degrees Celsius.

The mercury in Delhi reached 39.4 degrees on Friday, the highest temperature recorded so far this summer season. The same temperature was recorded on April 13 as well. The minimum temperature on Friday was recorded at 24.3 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal. Some parts of the city experienced cloudy weather, with strong winds blowing at a speed of 25 to 35 km per hour.

According to the IMD forecast, the maximum temperature may reach 40 degrees Celsius by April 23, with temperatures expected to rise to 41 degrees on April 24 and 25. On Saturday, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 39 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of around 21 degrees Celsius. Strong winds are expected at a speed of 25 to 35 km per hour. Light rain is expected on Sunday, bringing some relief from the hot weather.
