New Delhi: Two men from Haryana have been arrested by the Delhi Police for their alleged involvement in the shooting of a head constable, a senior officer confirmed on Friday. The incident took place on Wednesday in Sonipat's Ashok Nagar area. "On November 15, the Sonipat Police received a PCR call regarding a firing incident on a Head Constable of Delhi Police identified as Parveen. He sustained serious injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital. An FIR was registered, and a manhunt was initiated," said Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Singh Yadav. The Delhi crime branch formed a team to investigate the case following the incident. Based on information collected through surveillance, the team set a trap near Samalkha in Panipat and apprehended two individuals, 39-year-old Sushil and 50-year-old Shilak Ram of Sonipat. Mr. Yadav mentioned that the two suspects have confessed to their involvement in the shooting. They revealed that their close associate, Rajesh Nain, held a personal grudge against Parveen. On November 15, the two, along with Rajesh Nain and others identified as Bijender and Babla, went to the head constable's house with the intention of killing him, he added. "When Parveen opened the gate of his house, Rajesh Nain fired a shot at him and fled," Yadav stated. The investigation is ongoing, and the remaining accused will be arrested soon, he concluded.
