New Delhi: The police in the country's capital Delhi is constantly making efforts to curb crime. According to the report, two criminals were arrested after an encounter in Northeast Delhi's Jyoti Nagar late on Friday (October 21). Delhi Police has given this information. The arrested accused have been identified as Shakti alias Sonu (36) and Sachin (24), police said. Police have said that Shakti has been listed as a person with a "tainted character" at Mansarovar Park police station and is named as an accused in 18 criminal cases, while four cases are pending against Sachin. The encounter took place around 2 am last night on the service road towards Ambedkar College near Loni square in Jyoti Nagar. Giving information, a senior officer said that Shakti has been shot in the leg. He is also wanted in a case registered at Jyoti Nagar police station under Section 308 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A semi-automatic pistol, two cartridges etc have been seized from the accused. A bike without a number plate has also been seized, the official said.
