New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a young man was murdered in public for just asking for a beedi in the country's capital Delhi. The accused is a 16-year-old minor. The minor accused stabbed the youth more than 25 times with a dragon knife. The youth died on the spot. After the murder, the accused minor, dressed in blood-stained clothes, reached the police booth with a dragon knife in his hand and surrendered. The police have sent him to a juvenile home. The deceased has been identified as Shiva alias Monu (22), a resident of Navjivan Camp, Govindpuri. According to southeast district police officials, Shiva earlier worked as a mason. He was unemployed these days. Around 1 am on Tuesday, he asked the accused minor for a beedi. The minor denied having a beedi. There was a dispute between the two. In this argument, the minor got furious and brought out the big dragon knife from his house and started hitting Shiva indiscriminately. He continued to attack Shiva until he succumbed to his injuries. The accused stabbed Shiva 12 to 14 on his back and more than 15 in his chest. Shiva kept running and the accused minor kept hitting him. This led to blood all around the settlement. The minor accused then surrendered before the police with a dragon knife. The police arrested him and the minor, accused of murder, was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board on Wednesday. From there he has been sent to a juvenile home.
