Delhi Lok Sabha elections: Can You Vote Without a Voter Slip?

Delhi prepares for the Lok Sabha elections across its seven constituencies, with the electoral office already distributing voter information slips to registered voters. These slips contain essential details such as the voter's information, polling location address, booth number, and serial number on the electoral list. The aim is to ensure a smooth voting process for everyone.

The distribution of these slips is being carried out by booth-level officers (BLOs) in respective areas, a process expected to be completed shortly. BLOs are required to display their photo identity cards and request acknowledgment and contact details from the recipients.

Voters are advised to keep their information slips safe and bring them to the polling station on voting day. This will help polling staff quickly verify their details on the electoral rolls, saving time for everyone involved.

The voting in Delhi is scheduled for May 25, with 13,641 polling booths across 2,627 locations. Over 152 million voters are eligible to participate. The voter information slips will assist voters in finding their polling booths and details on the electoral list easily.

In case someone does not receive a voter information slip, they need not worry. They can download the slip online using their election card number. This downloaded slip will include the polling location address, booth number, and serial number.

It's important to note that the voter information slip alone is not sufficient for casting votes. Voters must also carry their Voter ID Card issued by the Election Commission or any of the 12 specified alternative documents, such as PAN card, Aadhaar card, driving license, passport, or passbook with a photo.

Political parties are also actively distributing voter information slips, using the electoral list to connect with voters and campaign for their candidates ahead of the elections.

Each polling location will have a helpdesk available for voters to obtain necessary details. The slip can only be used as a reference document and not as a standalone identification for voting.
