The Staff Selection Commission has announced to postpone the SSC CHSL Tier I exam. The postponement decision is taken in view of the rising infections in the country. The officials said that exams are cancelled for the safety of students and staff. The official notice issued by the commission reads that "The Commission has decided to defer the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (Tier-I), 2020 with effect from 20-04-2021. Fresh dates for the balance candidates of the said examination will be intimated in due course due to sudden rise in corona cases reported daily." Earlier the SSC CHSL Tier I exams were scheduled to be held from April 12 to April 27 at various centres across the nation. Recently, second wave has damaged the state. Delhi is witnessing spike in cases and in view to break this chain of corona contraction 6-days lockdown is imposed. Furthermore, thes exams were to fill over 4726 vacancies, including 158 vacancies for LDC/JSA/JPA, 3181 for PA/SA and seven for DEO posts in the country. But now as a precautionary purpose the exams are dismissed later this year it may be scheduled. No update regarding the new date has come.
