Delhi High Court Orders Community Service at Gurudwara for Two Men Found Guilty of Misbehaving with Neighbour's Wife

The Delhi High Court has directed two individuals found guilty of misbehaving with their neighbour's wife to perform community service at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib for a month. The court also quashed the First Information Report (FIR) filed in the case, following a settlement between the accused and the complainant.

Justice Subramaniam Prasad ordered the accused to pay ₹25,000 each to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund and plant 20 trees in their locality. Additionally, they must provide a certificate to the court after completing their community service.

The complainant stated that he did not wish to pursue the case further due to the settlement, leading the court to quash the FIR. The court observed that continuing the proceedings would serve no purpose, but warned that if the accused fail to comply with the directions, the state may move to revoke the quashing order.

The FIR was registered in 2014 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including causing hurt to the woman, assaulting or using criminal force with intent to dishonour her, and acts intended to insult her modesty. However, during the hearing, both parties reached a settlement, prompting the court to issue specific directions to teach the accused a lesson.
