On Wednesday, it was reported that four people were in custody in connection with the gang rape. Police Officials on Thursday dismissed as "fabricated" a Delhi woman's claim that she had been gang-raped by five men in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad. As per the police, the entire "conspiracy" was planned due to a property dispute. They further said that the woman's three associates - Azad, Afzal, and Gaurav - have been arrested. Inspector Praveen Kumar, said, "We have not got any evidence against them...Prima facie, in this case, no such incident has taken place. So, there is no question of getting evidence." When police was asked when the woman was kidnapped or illegally confined, the officer replied, "No. She had gone to a designated place at her own will." A review of the chat records shows that money was paid to individuals to publicise the case, added police. According to information, The woman had claimed that she was raped by five men over the course of two days. In the aftermath of the incident, Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal had claimed that the 36-year-old was found wrapped in a jute bag, with her hands and legs tied, and an iron rod was inserted into her private parts. Swati Maliwal also issued a notice to the Ghaziabad Police in connection with the case. DCW commented that the case reminds her of 'Nirbhaya'. On the intervening night of December 16-17, 2012, six people had brutally raped and assaulted a 23-year-old paramedic student inside a moving bus in south Delhi before throwing her out onto a road. Delhi Police found that Azad's phone had been turned off near the time of the woman's purported disappearance. The main conspirator is Azad, the vehicle used belonged to Gaurav, and the woman's associate Afzal was also involved, police said. The woman told police that she went to Ghaziabad a day before the incident to celebrate her brother's birthday. According to police, "A woman named Sameena gave the property to Azad in 2021 who, in turn, gave its power of attorney to a man named Deepak Joshi. There was talk about giving this property to the Delhi woman. The case regarding this was going on in the court." Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital confirmed that the woman is in stable condition and no internal injury had been found. Nipun Agarwal, the Superintendent of Police (City-I) Ghaziabad, had on Wednesday said that the victim claimed the accused put an iron rod into her private parts after raping her, but when police tried to take her to a Meerut hospital, she refused.
