Corona outbreak in Delhi again, 1600 new cases found in last 24 hours

New Delhi: The corona epidemic in the country's capital Delhi has once again started taking hold of people. Delhi has recorded 1,607 new cases with the death of two more people infected with coronavirus in the last 24 hours. During this period, the infection rate in Delhi was recorded at 5.28 per cent. This information was given by the health department on Saturday. Friday's health bulletin was released on Saturday morning after a delay of a day.

According to the health bulletin, the total number of corona infection cases in Delhi rose to 18,81,555 after the new cases came the previous day, while the death toll has risen to 26,174. The number of active cases of Corona in Delhi has increased to 5609 today. Delhi had on Thursday recorded 1,490 cases of coronavirus infection of 4.62 per cent infection rate, during which two more patients died. According to Friday's health bulletin, a total of 30,459 samples were tested for corona on Thursday. With this, the number of containment zones here has also now come down to 632.    

On January 13 this year, during the third wave of the pandemic, the number of daily COVID-19 cases in Delhi reached a record high of 28,867. Delhi had recorded a 30.6 per cent infection rate on January 14, the highest during the third wave of the pandemic, largely due to the highly permeable omicron variant of the coronavirus. The bulletin said that the number of patients in home isolation on Friday was 3,863.
