Pratapgarh: Samajwadi Party candidate Gulshan Yadav was brutally attacked by 50 persons while he was on his way to a polling booth at Paharpur Banohi village in Kunda assembly segment of Pratapgarh. The assailants broke into three vehicles of Gulshan Yadav's vehicle. It is alleged that three rounds of firing were also carried out due to this. On receiving the news, heavy force rushed to the spot. Samajwadi Party candidate Gulshan Yadav was on his way to the polling station at Paharpur in Kunda with his supporters at around 11:00 am on Sunday. Not far from the polling station, more than 50 people started pelting stones at their vehicles. The glass panes of three of their cars were broken. The force, which was present near the polling station, rushed to the spot and ran over the attackers. The attackers fled through the fields. On receiving the news of the commotion, Additional SP Rohit Mishra rushed to the spot with heavy force. Due to this, voting was disrupted for about half an hour. The police were going ahead with Gulshan Yadav in their own security. Just then a supporter from the other side was seen coming from the front. Gulshan's supporters stopped the car on the road and started beating him. He was beaten up in front of the police. Due to this, the attackers who were present on the other side of the fields also started running towards the spot. Due to this, the police ran them far with sticks. Three scooters and motorcycles found on the way were completely broken. Later, the police somehow went ahead with Gulshan. Now the matter is being investigated by the police.
