'Burhanpur' became country's first district, where clean water is reaching every house

Burhanpur: Madhya Pradesh's Burhanpur has achieved a big milestone, now the district has become the first certified 'Har Ghar Jal' district of the state. Here, 100 per cent of work has been done under the Rural Water Life Mission and every household has started getting pure and clean drinking water from taps. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat tweeted his congratulations to the Shivraj government and the people of Burhanpur in the state for this achievement of the district. After which, PM Narendra Modi also tweeted and congratulated everyone, praising the collective effort of the people of Burhanpur and the mutual coordination of the administration.

At the same time, the state's CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also tweeted his gratitude to PM Narendra Modi. CM Shivraj tweeted, "Hon'ble Prime Minister, on behalf of the people of Madhya Pradesh and especially Burhanpur, I express my heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable good wishes. It is with your inspiration that this resolution has been fulfilled. Madhya Pradesh is determined to complete your noble efforts for public service and the advancement of society." Earlier, Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat tweeted, "Congratulations to all the citizens of Burhanpur. From just 37 per cent of households in August 2019 to 100 per cent in less than three years, Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh has become the country's first every household water certified district."

Under the Nal Jal Jeevan Mission in Burhanpur, 214 schemes for 215 villages are being sanctioned with Rs 129.42 crore, construction of 72 RCC high-quality tanks, construction of 107 sample levels and laying of 646 km pipelines to provide pure and clean drinking water from taps to the villagers living in rural areas. In March, CM Shivraj arrived at a water conference at village Khadkod in Burhanpur and declared Burhanpur as the first district in the state to completion of work on the rural tap water scheme. At the same time, he also gave the target of building the most ponds in Burhanpur to stop the water, after which 75 ponds were constructed in Burhanpur today, where due to good rainfall, the pond has been flooded with water.
