A Russian woman was found dead in a hot spring in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, on Sunday morning, police reported. The 45-year-old tourist, identified as Tatiana, had visited the Gangnani hot springs for a bath on Saturday evening. Her lifeless body was discovered floating in the spring by locals, who immediately alerted the authorities, said Manoj Aswal, the Station House Officer of Maneri. Police responded quickly to the scene and recovered Tatiana's body from the spring. A postmortem examination later confirmed that the cause of death was a heart attack. Efforts are now underway to return her remains to Russia, Aswal added. Tatiana was traveling in India with two friends, who shared with the police that she was a spiritually inclined person, often engaging in meditation and evening walks.
