Breaking! 3 Trains Cancelled After Goods Train Derails in Palghar

Three trains were cancelled after a goods train derailed in Palghar, Maharashtra, according to Western Railway on Wednesday. The affected trains are Dahanu Road-Panvel-Vasai Road, Vasai Road-Panvel-Vasai Road, and Vasai Road-Panvel-Dahanu Road.

"Due to the derailment of a goods train at Palghar, the Dahanu Road-Panvel-Vasai Road, Vasai Road-Panvel-Vasai Road, and Vasai Road-Panvel-Dahanu Road trains are completely cancelled. We deeply regret the inconvenience caused," stated Western Railway.

Goods Train Derails Near Palghar

On Tuesday evening, seven wagons of a goods train derailed at Palghar railway station, disrupting Mumbai-bound train traffic from Gujarat. A railway spokesperson said the incident occurred around 5:10 PM, with no reported injuries. The train, comprising 43 wagons carrying iron coils, was en route to Karambeli, Gujarat, from Visakhapatnam.

The derailment caused significant damage to the tracks and overhead equipment, and the complete restoration of traffic on the busy Mumbai-Delhi route is expected to take several hours.

Both long-distance and Western Railway's suburban trains in the Mumbai region were affected, causing inconvenience to thousands of commuters.

Train Diversions and Cancellations

The 12936 Surat-Mumbai Intercity train was terminated at Vapi, while the 16505 Gandhidham-KSR Bengaluru Express, 12432 Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani Express, and 19260 Bhavnagar-Kochuveli Express were diverted via the Surat-Udhna-Jalgaon-Kalyan route on Tuesday.
