Hyderabad: Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of AIMIM and Member of Parliament from Hyderabad, has called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to show solidarity with the people of Gaza and provide assistance during the ongoing conflict with Hamas. The conflict has led to numerous casualties on both sides. During a public meeting in Hyderabad, Owaisi reaffirmed his commitment to Palestine, saluting the bravery of the people of Gaza who continue to endure the conflict. He also expressed strong criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, labeling him a "devil," a "tyrant," and a "war criminal." Owaisi's statement went on to address a local Chief Minister's warning against expressing support for Palestine, as he proudly displayed both the flag of Palestine and the Indian Tricolor. He emphasized that his stand is firmly with Palestine and called on Prime Minister Modi to intervene and put an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people. Owaisi stressed that the Palestinian issue is not confined to any one religion but is fundamentally a humanitarian concern. In addition to Owaisi's stance, the Congress Working Committee has also advocated for an immediate cease-fire between Israeli forces and Hamas. They expressed their long-standing support for the rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to land, self-government, and a life of dignity and respect. The conflict initiated by Hamas on October 7 has caused a significant number of casualties, including hundreds in Israel and more than 1,300 in Israel due to the escalation of hostilities. Israeli counter-airstrikes have resulted in over 2,200 deaths in Gaza, while Israel reported approximately 1,500 Hamas militants killed on its territory.
