Arvind Kejriwal to meet AAP's winning candidates

LUCKNOW: Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is all set to visit Lucknow to meet and greet the party candidates who won in the recent Uttar Pradesh civic election.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, will visit Lucknow before the end of this month. "He will meet with all successful candidates of the party and advise them on how to carry out work in their constituencies", said  Vaibhav Maheshwari, the principal spokesperson for the AAP, 

In preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, AAP will now concentrate on Uttar Pradesh following the civic elections. As UP sends the largest number of 80 MPs to Parliament, "AAP's planning for the state will be for the general election," said a party leader.  The AAP candidates' focus throughout the civic election campaign was on the party's governance structure in Delhi.

The party is preparing for Arvind Kejriwal's UP tour. But the schedule hasn't been finalised yet," an AAP leader stated. 

The Rampur district, a Samajwadi Party bastion, had the party's most overwhelming triumph. Sana Khanam, a party candidate, was chosen as the Rampur Nagar Palika Parishad's chairwoman.

Khanam won this female-only seat with 43,121 votes, or 44.19 percent of the total votes cast. The Kemri nagar panchayat in Rampur chose Rafat Jahan of the AAP as its chairman. She secured 7,449 votes, or 52.84 percent of all the ballots cast.

The AAP won three Nagar palika chairman seats, six nagar panchayat chairman seats, and a number of wards in municipal corporation, according to the Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission. The majority of the AAP's successful applicants are from underrepresented groups.
