Port Blair: AirAsia will begin operating an international flight from Port Blair in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, starting this Saturday. This marks the introduction of the first-ever international flight service from Port Blair's Veer Savarkar International Airport, which has not previously hosted international airlines. Kesavan Sivanandam, Chief Airport and Customer Experience Officer at AirAsia, said, "This is a significant milestone for us as it will be the first international flight from Port Blair. Our focus is not only on commercial viability but also on connecting people. We are grateful to the local administration for their unwavering support." Tour operators in the Andaman Islands are optimistic about the impact of this new service on the region’s tourism sector, especially as it connects the islands to Southeast Asia.
