Amit Shah hits back at Manmohan Singh's appeal not to vote for BJP in Punjab

Lucknow: Union Minister Amit Shah on Saturday hit out at the Congress. "During the Manmohan Singh government, many Alia, Malia and Jamalia used to enter the country and take away the heads of our soldiers. In this, the SP-BSP also supported Congress. Recently Dr Manmohan Singh had appealed to the people of Punjab not to vote for the BJP. Yes, and now this statement of Amit Shah is being seen as linked to the same appeal of Manmohan Singh.

Manmohan Singh had on Thursday hit out at the BJP, saying that the BJP has been in power for years last year, but it still holds the country's first Prime Minister responsible for the problems of the people. Addressing the public in the poll-bound state of Punjab, Singh, on the other hand, cautioned them against the saffron party's "divisive politics" and said the BJP was trying to "defame Punjab and Punjabiyat".

In one of his election speeches in Rae Bareli, Amit Shah said, "For 10 years, with the support of SP-BSP, the Congress Sonia-Manmohan government was at the Centre. During that time, Alia, Malia, Jamalia used to come from Pakistan and cut off the heads of our soldiers. Still, the PM could not do anything about it. Referring to the Pulwama attack, Shah said that when the incident took place, he thought that the BJP government would react in the same way as the previous governments did, but Prime Minister Modi hit them by entering the house with a surgical striker. Apart from this, he said that ever since Yogi Adityanath took over the reins of UP, there are no goons here, but Bajrangbali. "We were criticised for removing Article 370 from Kashmir, but our move was very successful.''
