AAP to Launch Public Campaign in Support of Arvind Kejriwal Amidst ED Summons

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gearing up to initiate a public campaign in solidarity with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on January 4, 2024. This move comes a day after Kejriwal is set to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection to a money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy 'scam.'

The 'Main Bhi Kejriwal Jan Samvad' campaign will witness the active participation of all ministers, MLAs, and councillors in Delhi, spanning across the national capital. This upcoming initiative follows a previous public outreach program, 'Main Bhi Kejriwal,' conducted from December 1 to 30, seeking public feedback on Kejriwal's potential resignation in the event of an arrest related to the liquor policy case.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak emphasized that the people of Delhi believe the Centre is "hatching conspiracies" to incarcerate Kejriwal. Pathak stated, "We will not allow our Chief Minister to be arrested under any circumstances. The good work that Kejriwal has done for us has not been done by any other Chief Minister."

Pathak, who is also AAP's national general secretary (organisation), declared that all party leaders and workers would stand by Kejriwal even if he was arrested. He asserted, "Our leaders have gone door-to-door in Delhi and made people aware of the dictatorship of the Modi government."

Accusing PM Modi of being "afraid" of Kejriwal, Pathak alleged that the BJP was conspiring to break up the AAP after arresting Kejriwal. "Even if all our leaders are put behind bars, we will continue to fight for honesty and truth," he affirmed.

Earlier this month, the ED issued the third summons to Kejriwal, asking him to appear for an ongoing investigation into alleged money laundering linked to the withdrawn liquor policy. Kejriwal, who deemed the summons "illegal and politically motivated," had skipped the previous two summonses in October and this month.
