Ambedkar Nagar: Five people have been reported killed in Ambedkar Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh due to consumption of poisonous liquor. Right there, the condition of four people is critical. Everyone's condition had deteriorated after drinking alcohol. After which they were taken to a private hospital for treatment. Two people were brought to the district hospital where 1 died while one was undergoing treatment when their condition deteriorated. The case of death due to poisonous liquor has come to light from Makhdoompur and Shivpal villages of Jaitpur. The villagers also cremated three people. Police have seized two bodies and sent them to the hospital for postmortem. The SP from Jalalpur reached MLA village after the incident. The police then reached the village. The four people who died are from the same village while one was a resident of another village. The same man is said to have brought alcohol. Family members said about 1 dozen people in the village had consumed alcohol after which everyone's health deteriorated. The liquor was reportedly brought from Azamgarh. The role of excise department and local police is also being questioned after the incident, an inquiry has been initiated on the entire matter at the behest of the DM.
