Dehradun: The Supreme Court on Tuesday heard a petition challenging the Uttarakhand High Court's decision to remove occupants from railway land in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. During this, the Supreme Court stayed the high court's decision for 8 weeks. This means encroachments will not be removed from this railway land for 8 weeks now. The next hearing of the case will be on May 2. According to media reports, the Supreme Court had sought eight weeks' time from the officials to work on the rehabilitation system of the people living here and to consider the need of the railways, which has been accepted by the court.
