Agartala: Just days after the release of the three hijacked workers of the NPCC, four militants of the banned militant group National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) surrendered with weapons to the state Director General of Police VS Yadav here. Yadav told the press that the surrendering militants also handed over two AK 56 rifles, one AK bayonet, four AK magazines, 119 AK bullets, a wireless handset and one and a half million Myanmar cash (kyat) to the police. The names of these militants are being reported as Ratham Kaloi and Joy Sadhan Jamita (both Gomti district), Madhu Ranjan Noatia (South Tripura) and Kuklia Tripura (Dhalai district). Yadav said that the surrendering militants disclosed during interrogation that between November 2018 and January 2019, 17 leaders and cadres including three militants who surrendered to the NLFT's Vishwa Mohan faction along with other northeastern militants of the Myanmar Tigga Special training was imparted at the Kanglei Yole Kanna Lup camp located. He claimed that the surrender militants have said that the freedom struggle of Tripura is completely false and there is no possibility of overall development and better future for the indigenous people of the state. The militants said that NLFT is going through a serious financial and organizational crisis, which prompted them to join the mainstream.
