Dehradun: The 24th meeting of the Central Zonal Council is scheduled to take place on July 15 in Narendranagar, Uttarakhand. According to state officials, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will preside over the meeting. The previous meeting, the 23rd meeting of the Central Zonal Council, was held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on August 22, 2022. During that meeting, discussions were held regarding the progress made in expanding banking facilities within a 5-kilometer radius of all villages, as per the vision outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for rural banking network expansion. An official statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs had mentioned this. In the 23rd meeting, the Union Home Minister had urged the Chief Ministers and Chief Secretaries of the states included in the Central Zonal Council to regularly monitor the issues raised in the Council meetings on a monthly basis. This monitoring was intended to ensure the timely resolution of these issues. Central Regional Council is organized every year in different states of the country. The 24th meeting of the Council is to be held this year, for which Uttarakhand has been elected. This meeting is proposed on 15th July. Home Minister Amit Shah will preside over the meeting.
