Pratapgarh: Police have registered a case against two teenagers and taken them into custody in connection with the alleged gang rape of a girl in a village under the Thana Nawabganj area, 70 kilometers from Pratapgarh district headquarters in Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday. Additional Superintendent of Police (Western) Rohit Mishra informed about the case on Friday that as per the information received so far, a six-year-old girl from a village in the Thana Nawabganj area was playing outside her house on Thursday when two teenagers from the village who were 13 and 14 years old reached the spot and allegedly gang-raped her by taking her alone. He said the girl returned home and informed the family about the incident. The family then rushed to the police station in the evening with the victim and lodged a complaint with the police. Police sent the teenager to a local hospital for a medical test. A case has been registered against the two juveniles accused and they have been taken into custody.
